Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all users of WayCite's services, including website visitors, bloggers using the Blogger Portal, and developers using the Developer API. This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and API Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your access.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
- Engage in harassment, abuse, threats, or intimidation of any person.
- Distribute spam, unsolicited communications, or chain messages.
- Transmit malware, viruses, worms, or any code designed to damage or disrupt.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or connected systems (including DDoS attacks or brute-force attacks).
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service outside of authorised API access.
- Circumvent any security measures, rate limits, access controls, or authentication mechanisms.
- Impersonate any person, entity, or WayCite employee.
- Use the Service to develop, operate, or market a product or service that competes with WayCite.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Attempt to manipulate GEO scores through artificial means, including submitting fabricated content, generating fake engagement signals, or coordinating with others to inflate scores.
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair its operation.
3. API-Specific Restrictions
In addition to the general prohibited activities above, API users must not:
- Deliberately or repeatedly exceed rate limits.
- Share API keys or credentials with unauthorised parties.
- Remove, obscure, or modify attribution links in API responses.
- Build training datasets or AI/ML training pipelines using API data.
- Resell or redistribute raw API data without prior written consent.
- Use the API to build a substantially similar or competing service.
- Cache API responses beyond the permitted 24-hour window.

4. Content Standards
If you submit content to the Service (including blog content for GEO analysis), you must ensure that your content:
- Is original or that you have the necessary rights and permissions to share it.
- Does not infringe any intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, or trade secrets.
- Is not defamatory, libellous, or deliberately misleading.
- Does not contain malware, malicious code, or links to harmful content.
- Does not promote illegal activities, violence, or discrimination.
- Complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
5. Enforcement
- We investigate reported violations and take action at our sole discretion.
- For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a written warning with a specified cure period.
- For serious or repeated violations, we may suspend access immediately without prior notice.
- For material breaches (including attribution removal, anti-scraping violations, or security attacks), we may terminate access permanently.
- We reserve the right to report illegal activities to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
- Decisions regarding enforcement are at WayCite's sole discretion. We aim to be fair and proportionate in all enforcement actions.
- Appeals. If your access has been suspended or terminated, you may submit a written appeal to legal@waycite.com within fourteen (14) calendar days of the enforcement action. Your appeal should include a description of the circumstances and any relevant evidence. We will review appeals in good faith and respond within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt. The outcome of an appeal review is final.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to: abuse@waycite.com. Include a description of the violation, any supporting evidence, and your contact information.
We will acknowledge receipt within forty-eight (48) hours and investigate promptly. Reports can be made anonymously, though providing contact information helps us follow up effectively. We will not retaliate against anyone who reports a violation.
